About Asia-Pacific Advanced Network (APAN)
APAN (Asia-Pacific Advanced Network) is an organisation that represents member institutions as well as a backbone network connecting member countries and regions in Asia and Oceania to each other and to other international research and education networks. APAN coordinates activities related to network technology, services, and applications among its member institutions and with other international organisations. APAN is also an important facilitator of network-enabled research and education activities such as research collaboration, knowledge discovery and sharing, telemedicine, and natural disaster mitigation.

APAN Meetings
APAN’s international community meets twice each year, with working groups, Birds-of-a-Feather sessions, committees, plenary sessions, and other meetings bringing together members and other interested participants to review progress, demonstrate advances in technology and applications, and plan future activities. Each meeting is hosted by a member country or region.
In March 2027, the 63rd Meeting of APAN will take place in Singapore, co-hosted with the Singapore Advanced Research and Education Network (SingAREN).

Singapore Advanced Research and Education Network (SingAREN) is Singapore’s National Research and Education Network (NREN). Established in 1997, SingAREN provides high-speed network connectivity and advanced digital services that support the nation’s research and education community.
SingAREN connects universities, research institutes, polytechnics, government agencies, and international partners through reliable, secure, and high-performance network infrastructure. In addition to international research connectivity, SingAREN supports initiatives in cybersecurity, identity federation, eduroam, cloud services, and collaborative research platforms.
